ATRIUM

Catechesis of the Good Shepherd

Ages 3-12

OLN offers this beautiful approach to religious formation for children ages 3 to 12. Using Montessori teaching principles, the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd presents the essentials of the Catholic faith to young children. The environment, materials, and presentations are specifically designed to allow a child to explore areas of faith - leading to a profoundly personal and joyful expression of faith and an authentic, prayerful relationship with God.

The Catechesis of the Good Shepherd is an approach to the religious formation of the young child. The catechesis is based on the conviction that God and the child are in relationship. The child has a deep need to experience and a special capacity to enjoy the presence of God. The goal of the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd is to nurture this relationship and to assist the child in falling in love with God.

Reflections from the True Vine atrium at OLN (ages 6-9)

Parable of the Found Sheep:

"Thank you God for preferring to look for us and not leaving us lost."

"Thank you for risking the 99 to find us and bring us back."

What does it mean to prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies?  “They want the enemies to be good”

“Jesus brings peace to the world every day”

“We dwell in the house of the Lord when we are following him.”

How do you know Jesus is with you?  “Because we have a heart.”

“The oil heals us”

“The oil protects us”

“God is with us so we shouldn’t be afraid”
